Skin Tags

What are skin tags?

Skin tags are small, coloured growths that hang off the skin’s surface. These benign growths are typically painless and noncancerous.

They often appear in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing, such as the neck, armpits, and groin. While harmless, skin tags can be bothersome for some individuals due to their appearance or location.

The most common reason why our patients request skin tag removal is due to irritation from jewellery or clothing, which can often become sore and bleed.

If they form on the face, they are unsightly and can interfere with your vision.

Removal of Skin Tags

The Yorkshire Skin Hospital offers two procedures for skin tag removal under local anaesthetic.
  • Electrocautery
  • Surgical excision

The decision as to which is preferable is dependent on the individual case and will be advised at your consultation.

Our consultations can be held in person, in the clinic in West Yorkshire, or via our secure online platform.

We look forward to welcoming you to the clinic.
